Approbation de l'importation/utilisation de l'OVM avec conditions
1. Scope of release: The intentional introduction into the environment of LM Maize shall be restricted solely to the approved events MON 87460 and MON 89034 and their progeny cultivars/lines. No genetic material resulting from intra- or inter-specific crosses with other LM Maize event(s) shall be introduced into the environment without prior written approval from REMА.
2. Monitoring and Reporting: RAB shall ensure regular monitoring of the LM Maize (MON 87460 x MON 89034) during all phases, including cultivation, handling, transport, and use. If RAB becomes aware of significant new information indicating potential adverse effects on biological diversity, or on human or animal health, RAB shall immediately inform REMA and propose appropriate risk management measures.
3. Insect Resistance Management: To mitigate the risk of pest resistance, RAB shall implement appropriate Insect Resistance Management Plan as part of the product stewardship programme.
4. Validity of the permit: This approval is valid for a renewable period of ten (10) years from date this letter is approved.

5. Transfer of permit: RAB may transfer this permit to another person or institution only upon prior written approval by REMA. Upon approval of such transfer, the terms and conditions of this permit shall continue to apply in full to the new permit holder.
Failure to comply with any of the stated conditions may result in the revocation of this approval and the application of legal and administrative penalties as prescribed by the Law governing Biosafety in Rwanda.
The decisions were given to ensure safe use of LM Maize into the environment and protection of human health.
